Operating System Support
STG provides Operating System (OS)
software support in conjunction with STG's hardware maintenance
services. STG OS support addresses operating system software
products from IBM, HP, Sun, Dell, Microsoft, SUSE, Red Hat and many
more, modeled around OEM support methods. STG provides a
single point of contact for OS technology related issues, and
ensures complete system coverage that quickly identifies and
resolves OS software problems. STG diagnoses problems and provides
the correct patch to resolve the issue. In addition, STG identifies
the root cause of the problem and provides a resolution to prevent
the problem from reoccurring.
Active patch management continually keeps
the OS up-to-date, and is a vital part of the STG software support
program. Through an active patch management program, our goal is to
keep our customers' OS software current while minimizing future
software problems.
Finally, STG engineers can provide
detailed instructions or even assist in patch deployment via remote
connectivity and hands-on support. Additionally, we offer
life-cycle management services in which we deploy or orchestrate
deployment of patch implementation and semi-annual firmware
implementation ensuring the customer stays current with the OEM's
patches and firmware eliminating costly issues and downtime caused
by potential bugs. All patch processes are ultimately governed by
the application requirements of the machines being
managed.
Migrations
STG offers an operating
system migration service to upgrade the operating systems of
our customers' servers. STG researches each environment, and
presents a comprehensive project plan that includes activities and
timelines as well as contingencies for the entire project. Once
approved STG will install and test new OS code. At the conclusion
of the project all servers will be successfully running the new OS
software.
Virtualization
Virtualization is being embraced by many
companies across the world, and is best
accomplished by an
experienced team. STG will analyze each unique situation and
develop an approach that will achieve the established goals. When
done correctly, virtualization results in better utilization of
servers and eliminates the need to purchase new server
hardware.
STG has the resources to accomplish a
successful virtualization project with maximum benefits. Working in
concert with internal teams, STG will deliver on- time and within
budget.
Remote Operating System
Support
Signature Technology Group provides three
avenues for remote support:

In instances where we maintain a large
amount of control over a customer's equipment, we will dedicate a
VPN tunnel from our Phoenix-based data center and virtual
workstations to the customer's equipment. Our VPN equipment is a
Cisco Security Appliance that is consistently and securely
maintained as well as updated with the latest stable firmware
provided from Cisco to ensure that our network is secure.

STG will provide support via a temporary
remote access. This method allows us to connect to the internal
network via a workstation located at the customer's site. All data
traversing the network and Internet is secured and tunneled via the
secure shell protocol ensuring that the customer's data is secure
as it crosses the wire. Additionally, once the session is
terminated, a new session and security is necessary to allow our
representatives to access the customer's site again. This method of
access provides a high level of flexibility and allows customers to
see the work that is occurring. Our representative can only utilize
this method via our secure, Linux-based virtual workstations that
are located in our data center and have very limited Internet
access, preventing them from being infiltrated or compromised,
which in turn ensures that we do not allow any rogue access to our
customers' network via our machines.

Our final method of providing remote
technical support is phone-based. This typically requires the most
commitment from the customer, and requires they have semi-technical
resources on hand to ensure proper communication between the
customer and our representative.
